    Olympic collectible sells for $8.8 million: A game-worn Babe Ruth jersey was surpassed as the world record for the most expensive sports memorabilia item when an Olympic collectible sold for $8.8 million at a December auction at Sotheby’s, Reuters reported on Dec. 18.
