As far as big game hunting around the world goes, it has become the number one destination for avid hunters to see what’s on offer. From elephant hunting to Marco Polo, if you can dream it, and it’s a legally huntable species, you will find it here. This year I finally had a good reason to attend, contributing to a journalism symposium in the days before the show kicking off in Dallas, Texas.

As far as the convention was concerned, it was everything I expected it to be, and I was lucky to have the opportunity of talking to several industry legends, including John Sharp, Ivan Carter, and the incredible artist. There is a firm acknowledgement that unless we are successful in shifting attitudes towards hunting, the future looks bleak.
