It’s here again: the start of the roebucks, which is, for me, the month in the stalking calendar that I enjoy the most. I have often discussed the reason for this well into the wee hours over a dram with clients and stalking friends. There is just something so special about the roe species – either the bucks or does. Clearly the key to any deer management plan must centre on the females anyway, but we are now looking at the male of the species.
