Transition. It’s safe to say that 2019 was a year of transition for Baselworld. This transition was immediately apparent from very first day until the end of Baselworld 2019, which took place from March 21 to 26. The ultimate transition was how the trade show reworked the setup of Hall 1.0 after the Swatch group—with all of its brands—left the building and the trade show starting this year.
The hall felt more spacious, the Press Center was transformed and sitting areas were set up, which is something that was admittedly missing from the previous year. Smaller, more subtle and behind-the-scenes changes were implemented, including modern communication strategies, strengthening the jewelry sector, expanding the gastronomic offerings at the show to coordinating the dates of Baselworld and SIHH for next year.
Moreover, Baselworld also presented videos of the Vision 2020+ concept to exhibitors in the Blue Room—a newly designed presentation room—throughout the entire duration of the show. Vision 2020+ is meant to make Baselworld the most important community
