ack in the mid 1960s, I, and I’m sure a lot of other people, used to eye up enviously a mandarin-red Ford Mark I Zephyr convertible that used to cruise in and around Parnell and Newmarket in Auckland. On more than one occasion, I had the opportunity to get up close with it when the owner parked it briefly near the Newmarket shopping centre. The lunchroom in the office where I worked at the time was above street level and afforded me a bird’s-eye view of the triangle intersection.
