It has been a tremendous year for taking the conservation of the southern ground-hornbill (SGH) forward. By hosting a Population and Habitat Viability Assessment (PHVA), we were able to, with the support and guidance of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Species Survival Commission Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG), and the genius of Prof. Mike Bruford and his team, bring all relevant stakeholders in ground-hornbill conservation together for a multi-day workshop at Mabula Private Game Reserve.
