Goodness Masoka

Cashier and assistant at Top End Biltong & Butchery

Goodness has lived in New Hanover since 2010, when her parents were given an RDP house in the town. Before that, they lived on a farm. Her father has since passed away. No, she says, after four years at the butchery – initially as an assistant on weekends – she no longer really eats meat. “Occasionally I’ll eat beef but I think I don’t actually like meat any more.” She laughs. “But I love my job. Edwin is honest and looks after us well, and he also pays us well. My work is a privilege – you must be happy when you wake up in the morning and go to work.”
