IN 1873, THE Colt Single Action Army ‘Peacemaker’ was cutting-edge technology, and in America it became the handgun choice for the military, for law-enforcement officers, and for defensive use by cowboys, homesteaders, farmers, stage-coach drivers and most horse-mounted Westerners. But ve come a long way since those times – nowadays, bad guys s are armed with AK-47s and high-capacity 9mm pistols. Is a single-action revolver still a viable option for self-defence?
