The Sand Eland
EARLY LAST YEAR, I set off from Port Elizabeth with two friends, Pat and Peter, on a trip which would culminate in a week's hunting in the far north of Namibia. First, we headed to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park for four relaxing days before we entered Namibia through the Mata Mata border post. As we continued north, the severe drought plaguing Nam was very evident.

After Grootfontein, we headed for Rundu before turning east towards Bushmanland and on to Eldoret and our hosts, Nico and Vastie Badenhorst. Over lunch, Nico briefed us on the hunting week ahead.
