    Q&A Round Edged Cracks

    After a glaze firing several pots are cracked as shown in this image. How can I correct this problem?

    As potters we do not like to see any defects in our ware however, this type of crack can reveal information about its causes and corrections. Round edge cracks are visible where the fired glaze rolls back or pulls away from the crack.. Often the potter does not see the crack when applying the glaze.
