How I Make My Work

Bernadette Mansfield, the editor of Ceramic Art and Perception magazine invited me to write about my latest series of work, They Fill Your Heart Without Trying. In all honesty I often find it difficult to write about my work critically, so instead, I decided to give a step-by-step account of how the exhibition came together.

The Power of Instagram

I set up an Instagram account (vipooart) in 2013 in order to display my work and offer behind-the-scenes images.

As we all should, I keep a close eye on the account and noticed that the director of the Olsen Gallery had started following my account and ‘liked’ many of my photos. It was a wonderful surprise and I returned the favour by following his account and ‘liking’ a lot of images he put up.
