The racing Anglias
The original overhead valve-engined Anglia 105E started within weeks, when John Young’s Superspeed car appeared at a Boxing Day Brands Hatch meet, finishing third in a saloon car race. It made more noise than its performance suggested, because according to Autosport’s report of the race: ‘The only difference between this car’s exhaust note and that of the V16 BRM is that the Ford is rather noisier ....’
