Ihaven’t touched my Cortina Estate for a long time — too long — and there are a few areas I’ve never been happy with, which means some fairly radical surgery. One of the relatively minor areas is the dash — I love the smoothed-out look with as much hidden as possible but then, I’m a big fan of the ’60s muscle car theme as well, so can I combine both?

Mk1 Cortina dashes — and the Aeroflow in particular — were forward thinking as far as Ford were concerned. The dash is modular so it’s easy to swap from right to left-hand drive. By merely exchanging the glovebox door for a dash insert, they could reposition the instruments and bingo you can drive on the wrong side of the road!
