Q I’m fitting a Crossflow engine into a 1962 Anglia and have a choice of two engines with the following identification marks: 711M6015BA and 711M6015AA. Have you any idea from these what the different is between the two engines?

The answer is in the part numbers. Ford imaginatively tends to start its part numbers with the year of introduction, so 71 is 1971. Next is 1M, which is a part number. Just out of interest, earlier Crossflows were the 681F, which was the Mk2 Cortina
