CAN’T GAUGE

Q I’m in the fourth year of restoring my 1978 Mk2 Mexico and it’s nearly finished. The problem is I’ve put my clocks back in and the petrol gauge will not go over halfway, even when it’s full, and I have no temperature gauge at all. I’ve replaced the sender with a genuine Ford one but it still doesn’t work. I’ve rebuilt the 1.6 Pinto but don’t know what temperature it’s running at. Could you tell me if the instrument cluster is broken or is it something else?
