Electrical upgrade and tidy up

The original Lucas 11AC alternator on my E-Type has a history of problems that recently resurfaced. The alternator was overhauled in the early 90s and operated well until I upgraded the electric fan in 2010 to overcome overheating when sitting in traffic. Originally the E-Type was fitted with an electric fan, although calling it a fan was stretching the point – it was a Lucas wiper motor fitted with two blades with very little angle on them, therefore a very small movement of air and certainly not up to the task of summer cooling in Queensland.

This was replaced with a Kenlowe 14in high performance fan that was mounted in the nose of the bonnet just in front of the stone guard. I
