Charlize Theron: ON SETTING OFF HER BOMBSHELL OF A MOVIE

THE actress has endured a severe spinal injury, cracked teeth, torn ligaments and now damaged vocal chords through her determination to give everything in each and every performance.

It’s more than paid off for Charlize, who is now not only one of Hollywood’s most revered actresses but a respected producer too. The 44-year-old South African star knew she would be challenged in bringing Bombshell to the big screen, but she encountered more than she bargained for – including that latest injury. Bombshell sees Charlize in the real life role of American TV broadcaster Megyn Kelly and her fight to expose sexual harrassment against her and other female employees at her network. Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie as fellow Fox News journalists complete a stunning line up of talent that has helped push Bombshell into Oscar contention.

More important to and her co-stars than all that glitz and glamour is the drive to get a true story told and for the issues raised to help the push for equality in all industries. has described playing as more taxing than her Oscar winning turn as the serial killer Aileen Wuornos in 2003 film . Her character this time is less severe of course but the need for prosthetics to transform herself once more harks back to her first headline-grabbing real life role.
