SWAN 48
This, the smallest of the cruising Swans, was announced at the Düsseldorf boat show earlier this year and the first boat is already on the water. It offers all the hallmark Nautor qualities – and the latest in design thinking from German Frers – in a size that’s easily handled by a couple or family crews. At the same time it offers flexible living space with privacy, allied with the performance that’s expected of a Swan.
The twin-rudder broad transom hull shape is informed by today’s ocean racing craft, with tweaks to the shape to allow for a cruising yacht’s additional displacement. This in turn gives plenty of volume below the waterline, allowing ample space for tankage and heavy systems low down. An optional performance package includes racing keel, square top mainsail, carbon spars and rigging.
