IT WAS ALL YELLOW

If you’re sitting comfortably, let me start by telling you a bit about me, my air-cooled VW addiction, and how I came to invest so much time and a not insignificant amount of cash on this 1977 Beetle. In 1987, when I was 14 years-old my parents Peggy and Charlie bought me a project Beetle for Christmas. It was, to this day, the best present I have ever received.

My father and his neighbour, Kevin Argue, tied a rope to the old ’68 Beetle and dragged it home on Christmas Eve. Rain, no wipers, no brakes and with holes in the floor it was an interesting journey for my dad. Needless to say when I opened the curtains on Christmas morning I couldn’t believe it. I spent the next 12 months taking it apart, getting it running and learning as much as I could from the process. Sadly, though, it was too far gone to save,
