CLASS OF 2020

Twenty-twenty is set to be a big year for new bike releases and the choices for adventure bikes have never been richer than they’re set to be. Choosing a bike will be simultaneously easier and more difficult as we’re faced with a massively varying price range and a stunning array of mechanical and electronic offerings from Europe, Japan and even the US of A.

Some of the bikes have been teased for anything between weeks and years, and while some had already seen release in Europe, others debuted at the 2019 EICMA Show. Let’s check out the class of 2020.

KTM 790 ADVENTURE R

While 2020 will signify its first full year on sale, KTM’s 790 Adventure R has a head-start on most of the competition as it became available for the third and fourth quarter of 2019.

The 790 was teased for what seems like an eternity but Yamaha’s Ténéré 700 takes the title there. We’ve known there was a 790 in the works since 2017 but Yamaha has been spruiking the T7 since way back in 2016. But it’s here and it’s been ridden a heap and so the 790 is by far the most familiar of the new crew.
