A friend who was soon to be ordained as a priest admired a cross made for my father in 1936 in Zambia when he was a medical missionary. It is made of ebony with decorative ivory ends (Image 1).
The quality of the finish is very fine. At 150mm tall, it is rather too large to wear as a pectoral cross. I decided to make a smaller one for him to celebrate the occasion.
