Compatibility issue in Windows 10

An old game called Train Dispatcher doesn’t work properly on my Windows 10 laptop – nothing happens when I click Permits or Trains. Yet it works perfectly on my Windows 10 desktop. Can you help please?

GERALD GIBSON

We were unable to replicate the issue on any of our Windows 10 machines, suggesting that it’s an incredibly rare glitch. Instead, we offered Gerald the following workaround: set up a virtual machine running Windows 95. To do that, download and install VirtualBox (www. virtualbox.org) and then download the free Windows 95 virtual hard drive (https:// archive.org/details/windows_95_vdi). Open VirtualBox and choose Machine > New. Name it Windows 95, set its type to ‘Microsoft Windows’ and its version to ‘Windows 95’ and allocate it 256MB of RAM. Choose ‘Use an existing virtual hard disk file’, click the button to open a new dialog box, then click Add to select Windows_95.vdi. Make sure it’s highlighted and click Choose followed by Create. Select your virtual machine, and then click Start. Click ‘Cancel’ when prompted for a network password, then work through any other dialog boxes until the desktop appears. Choose Devices >
