Butterflies Australia

YOU’RE MY BUTTERFLY, SUGAR BABY.

Free

Butterflies Australia has been built with government funding (which apparently still exists?) in order to record all the different species of butterfly in Australia. If you’re not an avid butterfly watcher, or familiar with the processes involved in cataloguing butterflies, then a lot of the functionality is going to be locked off from you – the ‘Survey’ option immediately confused me. But regardless of your investment in butterfly populations, the app’s field guide, and its list of every type of butterfly found in Australia – complete with photos, maps, descriptions and lists of behaviour traits and habitat preferences – is cool.
