The house draws parallels with elements like the Monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey, an aircraft’s colloquial ‘black box’ flight recorder, or the iPhone (Oliver Sacks referred to it as the ‘little box’), which have imbued within them a sense of mystery due to their dark and unnaturally orthogonal masses. And like the Monolith, the locals were drawn to its presence.
