embership of this order, established in 1987, is the highest royal honour in New Zealand, although it doesn’t come with a title. The “ordinary membership” is restricted to 20 living members. There are currently 19. Kiri Te Kanawa, Helen Clark, Jim Bolger, Peter Gluckman, Lloyd Geering, Richie McCaw. 15 men, 4 women. Confusingly, there are currently seven “additional” members Malvina Major, Karl Stead, Prince Philip, Peter Jackson. : 5 men, 3 women.
