WILD AT HEART

LAST month I talked about safety, and raised the idea of making changes to the traditional quarter-mile race distance for Pro Slammers. Well, let me tell you that really got some people up on their tyres; it felt like about 300 Pro Slammer drivers rang me up and told me to get stuffed. That also included someone close to home called Ben Bray!

Since then, I’ve heard that a local Pro Slammer team ran 440 km/h in testing. I’ve said it before, and it’s worth repeating: Try pulling up a 1220kg car at that rate of knots. One thing goes wrong and you could be headed for a disaster. ET is
