Many houses around the country open their gates annually for an incredible light show to highlight majestic trees, architecture and garden structures. One of the first to open its doors for winter events will be Waddesdon Manor.

This beautiful manor was built in the style of a French Renaissance château and was the vision of Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild. In the 1870s, he transformed a bare piece of agricultural land near Aylesbury into landscaped gardens with a magnificent house. The baron, who was a widower, built the house for the purpose of entertaining friends
