SIZE Height 18cm (7in)

SOIL Well-drained, moderately fertile gritty soil. Iris do well in pots and raised beds.

POSITION Full sun/ partial shade, in pots, rock garden or under deciduous trees and shrubs.

CARE Plant 8-10cm (3-4in) deep, 10cm (4in) apart, or plant 15 bulbs to a 23cm (9in) container in autumn. Clumps can be divided up after flowering from mid summer to autumn. Keep slugs at bay when in bud.

GOOD COMPANIONS Dwarf narcissus, Anemone nemorosa, hepatica and hardy geranium.
