The Panasonic DP-UB820EB borrows much of the picture-processing technology you’ll find in the company’s flagship 4K machine, the DP-UB9000, but costs less than half the price.

In terms of connections, there’s ethernet for a wired internet connection (recommended if you’re streaming via the player’s built-in apps), two USB inputs, and twin HDMI outputs affording added flexibility for owners who prefer to split the picture and sound for their display and amp. There’s also a set of 7.1-channel analogue outputs for added flexibility should your system need it.
