Traditionally dependent on retirees with healthy pension plans, things have started to shift, with the average age of cruise passengers reported to have fallen to its lowest in more than 20 years. This is thanks to the emergence of more family-orientated cruise lines, the rise of the Asian market and, notably, an attitudinal shift towards luxury consumption, with many preferring to spend their hard-earned cash on unique travel experiences.
