    North Carolina Marriage License Requirements

    In North Carolina, the legal age for marriage is 18 years old. Those under 18 must have parental consent. Couples must apply for and sign the license together at the Register of Deeds office. A Social Security number and a driver’s license (and sometimes a birth certificate) are required as proof of identification. Residency and blood tests are not required.
