My invite came about while ogling the beautiful ducktail fitted to the rear of a 996 CSR owned by RPM Technik’s commercial director, Darren Anderson. Exquisitely sculpted with consistent, equal gaps to surrounding panels, it’s clearly no mere fiberglass installment. Beneath the ducktail’s Zenith blue hue, faint fissions of stunning carbon fibre weave can be detected.

An example of RPM Technik’s second generation of carbon fibre body panels for its CSR line of modified 911s, the revelation gives rise to a discussion on wider use of the material which, in automotive circles, has diversified considerably in the last decade or so.
