Your wedding shouldn’t necessarily feature all of your favorite foods, especially if they don’t go together—like foie gras and cheese grits. Picking a theme before you set the menu will help ensure the dishes you choose work well as a whole. Consider paying tribute to your family heritage with ethnic choices, like Mexican, Italian or Japanese cuisine. Or have the caterer create a menu based on your honeymoon spot— serve fruit-filled crepes if you’re Paris bound or gyro sliders if you’ll be heading to the coast of Greece.
