A CLOSER LOOK
Luxury means exclusivity. It’s certainly where you have to invest a lot of money and not just focus on the value of the product. But if we are talking about watches, it’s definitely the quality. And that’s also the reason why we, at Baume & Mercier, It’s definitely the Baumatic because developing a nine-hours movement with such a level of performance and four strong benefits for the client was a long, long journey. It took us many years of development. I feel proud of the way it turned out and how customers accepted it. I think it’s the transmission of tradition and also staying true to the ideals of the watchmaking industry. We have a huge responsibility of continuing the journey, especially the Bauman Brothers motto of accepting only perfection and manufacturing watches of the highest quality. The biggest change comes from new technology. And if you ask me about the trends, of course e-commerce has become stronger than ever before. We already have a place in e-commerce in America and the UK since 2015. And just last year we entered the market in Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. I think this kind of selling network will only increase in the future.
