“I WAS at the Olympic test event in Sochi in 2013. I did a training run and just misjudged a feature and went about 80 feet (25m) too far on a jump. I landed and blew out my knee. I didn’t know it until the end of the day, so I continued to train in a lot of pain. I was popping athlete candy – Advil and Panadol – left and right.
