ALEXACHUNG
LONDON February 16, 2019
Dystopian. Nuclear. Mysterious. Glossy and matt. Velvet and lace. Patent and check. The ALEXACHUNG collection brought together daring combinations, different materials, darkness and was inspired by the vast Big Sur coastline in California, Japanese urban landscapes, apocalyptic scenarios, and by watching the Schwarzenegger film . The show was entitled“Off the Grid, but Not for Long”. The silhouettes had the broad shoulders of the Eighties. The clothes included holographic surfaces, textures with herringbone motifs, bold tartan, floral jacquards and fine knitwear. Long scarves and belted waist. Sleek dresses came in dark velvet with tone on tone ruffles or contrasting lace insets. The esoteric palette included tar and ash with touches of yellow, tobacco and teal.
