TAILORING HYBRIDS
Tailoring territory no longer has any boundaries. Many designers were neither moving into couture nor giving in completely to the all-powerful streetwear, rather seeking out compromises that produced eye-catching hybrids.
Like Alessandro Sartori for , who retained classic menswear codes but injected techsporty details such as drawstrings, maxi-pockets, elastic hems, contrasting insets, zips and hoods. Fabrics also adapted, acquiring lightness and mixing with mesh and other ‘performance’ materials. Sneakers on the feet, obviously.
