Westley Richards droplock

Earlier this year I was working at the Elmia Game Fair in Sweden. We had a dozen or so British guns and rifles on display and undoubtedly the gun that drew the most attention was a Westley Richards droplock.

The Swedish enthusiasts knew exactly what it was and it was fun to see them examine what appeared to be a standard Westley Richards boxlock and then watch their eyes light up as they exclaimed, “It’s a droplock”.
