And Becky Chambers, author of , has a new novella out. (out now, Hodder & Stoughton) is set in a future in which galactic explorers transform themselves, altering their biology to, for example, produce antifreeze in sub-zero temperatures, or absorb radiation and convert it for food. In continuing series, meanwhile, Stephen Aryan’s trilogy has concluded with (out now, Orbit), as has Anna Smith Spark’s series, with (out now, HarperVoyager). Finally, (29 August, Auteur Publishing), the latest in the chin-stroking film studies series, considers what the film has to say about issues such as humanity’s relationship with nature and “the manifestation of violence and control in men”.
