“I believe I was born to serve people and make them happy. Cooking has become my way of doing this,” says Pholosho Matondolo. Originally from Polokwane, the Cape Town-based private chef and caterer has loved cooking ever since she started helping her late mother in the kitchen at the age of 12.
While studying hospitality management, she agreed to cater her cousin’s wedding for 100 guests. “My sisters and other cousins who were meant to assist me didn’t arrive on time, so I had no choice but to get on with it myself,” she recalls.
