1. The light-brown, mottled Burchell’s Sandgrouse (Gevlekte Sandpatrys) eats the seed of many creeping annuals, and makes a small depression in the sand among grasses for nesting. Both the male and female bring water to the chicks, absorbed in their especially adapted breast feathers.
