How I remember lovely Winchester

I thoroughly enjoyed Bryony Symes’ article on Winchester (Local Authority, issue 419).

However, what I bet Bryony didn’t know was that many moons ago, the Caravan Club (now the Caravan and Motorhome Club) negotiated a special night halt, in Winchester bus station.

I can’t remember if it was free or for a small charge, but we stayed there many times on our trips from Kent to the West Country, with our Austin 1300 pulling our (original) Sprite Alpine!
