Bopping from one foot to the other, I copied the famous wrestler on the TV screen as he bounced off the rope.
Flying into his startled opponent, he grabbed him by the neck and pulled him straight to the floor.
‘One, two, three!’ the referee called.
‘Smack down!’ I yelled, fist pumping in the air.
I’d just watched my all-time favourite wrestler Rey Mysterio annihilate his biggest rival.
It was 1996, I was 11.
While my pals were all playing with hair accessories and talking about boys, I’d be rushing home to watch the wrestling.
‘Be careful,’ my mum Tania, then 31, would laugh, as I tried to re-enact some of the dramatic moves on the television.
