Walking down the hospital corridor in my blue scrubs, I smiled at one of my patients
‘When are you due, dear?’ an older lady asked me.
I felt my cheeks flush red as I touched my tummy quickly.
‘Oh no, I’m just fat,’ I chuckled to her, turning it into a joke.
I didn’t know how else to handle a comment like that.
I’d been mistaken for being pregnant a number of times in work – when really, I was just very overweight.
