hugely frustrating for both bandmembers and fans of Heart Of A Coward is to see bands with just a fraction of their invention and prowess, as both a live is here at all, after the departure of much-admired frontman Jamie Graham in 2017 and the continued apathy toward them by the wider world, feels like a triumph in itself. And it will be no shock to long-time, clued up listeners that HOAC’s problems have no direct correlation with the quality of their music. Because, once again, this is a perfectly executed modern, technical metal album, full of throbbing grooves and thick, taut guitar riffs, with new vocalist Kaan Tasan slipping into Graham’s shoes confidently and admirably.
