COMEBACK QUEEN

his isn’t Vanessa Amorosi’s first rodeo. The singer, born in Melbourne, is buckling up for her third comeback after making a name for herself with the soft-rock power ballads “Shine” and “Absolutely Everybody” at the turn of the century. In 2009, Amorosi reinvented herself with the edgy electro-pop album, ditching her green eyeshadow and turtlenecks for heavy eyeliner, knee-high boots and arm tattoos. Then, in 2014, she announced she was working on a new gospel album (yet to be released). And now, a decade after her last solo track, she’s back with an emotional new single called “Heavy Lies the Head”.
