Set among extensive grounds made up of pastures and woodland dotted with beehives, the rambling mid-19th-century farmhouse, home to Simply Healing, feels a world away from civilisation. To the front of the property is a large lawn, decorated with sculptures and sun-loungers positioned to take in the landscape.

With such imposing surroundings, I expect to step into a formal hotel reception, but am instead welcomed into a relaxed sitting area with a large fireplace and sofas.
