How to shoot a real Basotho

DURING some extensive travelling across southern Africa last year, a serious problem became apparent to me. We, as explorers, get the incredible opportunity to see African cultures throughout the continent. Yet, the people sharing their culture and time with us rarely get to see the photographs we take, apart from maybe on the back of the camera’s LCD screen.

In December, while on a trip to Lesotho via Sani Pass, I took some of my favourite photos yet but looking back at these pictures, I realised it was time to give back, by finding a way to reward the locals who so willingly offer up their smiles.

This meant another adventure to Lesotho, with a bigger group.

WHY THE BASOTHOS FIRST?
