When my father, Ernst Egger, first sat me in a kayak 22 years ago, neither of us could have imagined where it would lead. Today, 28-year-old me is still kayaking; what was once my hobby is now my passion and my profession. Through paddling, I have achieved everything I ever wanted to and more than I could dream.
Sleeping by the water, having breakfast and getting back in the kayak until the sun goes down again, and then re-setting up camp on another beautiful shore, exploring the river day by day: this is my favorite type of paddling trip, and, in my opinion, the best way to learn new things. But it had always been grade V rivers full of difficult whitewater that piqued my interest, challenged and inspired me.
