DOCUMENTARY: “RUN WILD RUN FREE: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF WILD AND SCENIC RIVERS”
This October marks the 50th anniversary of the most important and successful piece of river conservation legislation in the world: The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. This spring, lifelong fisherman and film director Shane Anderson traveled the United States to learn the tumultuous story of the Act’s history, present situation, and potential future. His documentary, “Run Wild Run Free: 50 Years of Wild and Scenic Rivers” presented by Pacific Rivers, will be screened around the nation this October. Starting with the protection of only eight rivers in the United States in 1968, today the Act defends 258 rivers. But what does it mean to to continue protecting nation’s rivers.
